For that reason, we are implementing safety protocols for Covid prevention, so you can enjoy your stay here without worrying about your health.
Yes, we have some requirements in place. The current situation demands teamwork to ensure everyone’s health and safety. So, we ask you as our guest to follow these safety requirements:
● The use of face masks is mandatory during your stay. A $250 penalty will be imposed if violated.
● We will meet you at our “Wellness CheckPoint” to begin the safety protocols upon your arrival. We will check your temperature and give you a new Face Mask.
● Elevators and the pool must only be used by one person or members of the same family at a time.
● We will provide a COVID-19 letter to be signed by every adult guest. By signing this document, you certify you don’t have any symptoms of COVID-19 at that moment and haven’t had symptoms in the last week and last two weeks.
● It is mandatory to keep social distancing of at least 6”.
● The parking code of La Terraza de San Juan limits parking only to residents. Cars without the resident stickers will be fined $250.
● Bags must be disinfected upon check-in and stored in a safe, dedicated storage area.

You’re probably wondering how we protect our hotel staff and others to slow the spread of the COVID-19. It’s an important question to ask, and we care a lot about your trust. At La Terraza de San Juan, our staff has a strict protocol of Covid prevention to keep everyone safe, which includes:
● Cleaning and disinfecting protocols after guests depart and before the next guests arrive, with particular attention paid to high-touch items and surfaces.
● Our hotel team has been receiving ongoing training in operating/cleaning protocols.
● Contact with guests’ belongings and credit cards will be reduced to the minimum necessary.
● Telework and remote work schedules will be used to keep staff at a minimum in hotel facilities and reduce physical contact.
● All staff members must wash their hands with water and soap at the start and end of their shift and at least every hour.
● Staff on our midnight shift will thoroughly clean and disinfect the front desk.
● There will only be two staff members in our offices at one time.
● Only the two office workers may take their masks off while seated at their desks and if there is no other staff member inside the office at a given moment.
● Staff must take their break and eat at the lobby bar, and disinfect after eating.
● Only two staff members can be inside the laundry room at one given time.
● Only two staff members can be inside the housekeeping room at one given time.
● Only one staff member can open the office door at a given time, and must wear a face mask.
● Hands or gloves must be disinfected every time upon entering the housekeeping room or offices.
● Housekeeping staff must wear gowns, two pairs of gloves, closed shoes and face masks all the time.
● A safety officer for Covid prevention is appointed to monitor the COVID-19 Safety Protocol and guidelines to identify new areas of risks and other necessities.
● In the case of pregnant women, they will mostly work from home. Any other high-risk people will work with high safety standards, or be isolated if necessary.
● Staff must use gloves and face masks at all times.

We are working together tirelessly to keep everyone safe. However, being such an unpredictable virus, there’s always a chance you could get Covid.
You may wonder what to do if you have suspected or confirmed covid during your stay in La Terraza De San Juan Hotel. No need to worry! At all times, we have an available room to isolate a guest suspected or confirmed of COVID-19. These will be the protocols to follow:
1- Guests with a temperature above 100.4°F or 38°C must be isolated in the COVID-19 isolation room, or their entry to the hotel will be denied.
2- A second temperature check must be made. If the temperature is higher than 38°C, guests must:
● Call 787-692-6303 for medical assistance.
● Self-isolate and monitor symptoms. Follow national guidance on self-isolation.
● Go to the hospital.
3- All common areas will be thoroughly disinfected.
4- After the guest leaves the isolation room, it will be thoroughly disinfected after a 24-hour vacancy.
All staff members will have to take a test immediately. Staff members who have had direct contact with COVID-19 positive staff members must stay home until they test negative.
If we know that a guest has or had COVID-19 while staying at the hotel, all guests who have stayed within 72 hours will be contacted to let them know. All staff members will have to take the test immediately. Staff members who have had direct contact with COVID-19 positive guests must stay home until they test negative.
We want our guests to enjoy as much as they can our facilities, so their stay can be pleasant. That’s why La Terraza de San Juan Hotel facilities, common areas and work areas will be thoroughly disinfected every day. We will also be implementing the following procedures:
● All rooms have cleaning implements according to the room’s dimensions so that the guest can disinfect when they please.
● Sanitizing stations are set on every floor and area of contact. They will be the hotel gate entrance, lobby, inside the front desk, outside front desk, outside lobby office, gym bar, paying machine in gym and bar, inside the elevator, elevator on 1st, 2nd, 3rd-floor, rooftop.
● Breakfast service in the lobby is not available.
● Tables and chairs have been removed.
● Lobby furniture has been reduced to two tables and a couch.
● Only one Front Desk bar stool is in place.
● A glass barrier is installed at the front desk.
● Every hour, the office, lobby and front desk must be disinfected with RTU products.
● Elevator buttons and metal rails must be disinfected every time used and at least once every hour.
● Bags for trash and dirty towels will be provided to guests. They must leave trash and dirty towels inside bags on the front of their doors before 3 pm for housekeeping to retrieve. New towels and trash bags will be left inside the room, either on the floor or the table at the room entrance.
● Upon finishing a room, a cleaning certificate must be signed with the date and hour that certifies the housekeeper has cleaned the room according to COVID-19 cleaning protocol and standards.
● The ventilation doors will be opened every hour with surveillance so that nobody enters or leaves the facilities without control. The facilities have many natural ventilation points.
● The hotel will provide for free: face masks, hairnets, gloves, and antibacterial soap in every bathroom. Disinfectant products and paper towels will be provided in every sanitizing station and bathroom, and hand sanitizer or alcohol will also be available at every sanitizing station. COVID-19 tests will be provided for every staff member every two weeks.
● Stay over service is limited.
